JoAnne Juliano Giger joined the firm in November 1996 and became a member in January 2000.  Ms. Juliano Giger received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from The College of New Jersey and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Juliano Giger was an associate with the law firm of Griffith & Jacobson in Chicago, Illinois from November 1994 until May 1996, when she returned to New Jersey.   Ms. Juliano Giger began her professional career as an accountant and last worked at Coopers and Lybrand from January 1988 to July 1992.  She is a certified public accountant, in addition to being a member of the bar of New Jersey, New York and Illinois.

The depth of Ms. Juliano Giger’s expertise has served her clients well over the years. In addition to her financial and traditional legal background, she has received certification as a Family Mediator and has completed Collaborative Law Training.  

Among her many honors and awards, Ms. Giger has been included by New Jersey Super Lawyers for the years 2009 through 2015.  She has received an AVVO rating of “Excellent” and was awarded an American Jurisprudence Award in Family Law in 1992.

In 2009, Ms. Juliano Giger had the honor of arguing before the Supreme Court of New Jersey in the challenging and controversial palimony case of Devaney v. L’Esperance.  

She has also been invited to speak at the:
  • New Jersey Association for Justice 2009 Boardwalk Seminar on the issues of palimony and unmarried cohabitants; and the
  • 2009 Judicial Family Division Education Conference on the issues of palimony and unmarried cohabitants.

Ms. Juliano Giger is a member of the New Jersey, Essex County and American Bar Associations, and is a Master of the Barry Croland Family Law Inn of Court.  She also serves on the District V-C Fee Arbitration Committee, currently as its Vice-Chairperson.  Previously, she served on the District V-C Ethics Committee.  Ms. Juliano Giger serves as an Early Settlement Panelist in Essex and Morris Counties, where she has been a Blue Ribbon panelist.
